Bible Study

Pastor: Rev. Cindy Paxton

This group is not meeting for the month of July, we will be back in August with updated information.

This Bible Study group meets on Wednesday's from 5:30-7:00.

Bible study is so important in our spiritual growth and opening oursleves up for Jesus' leading in our lives.

We use various forms of media for learning, discussion, and interactions with others.

Anyone who wants to learn more about God's Word and how it applies to our current world and personal situations is welcome.

This is an open group, willing to hear and learn from various perspectives.

We will begin a new study on May 27th
It is a study of the book of Ruth and is part of Seedbed's Epic of Eden Series

From Seedbed's website:

Set in the midst of one of the most corrupt eras of Israelite history, Ruth is a story about three compelling characters. Naomi is an elderly widow who has lot everything and returns to her homeland empty and bitter hoping simply to survive. Ruth is Naomi's young daughter-in-law, also a widow, and a foreigner, who at great personal cost refuses to let Naomi face the future alone. Boaz is the local patriarch—a man of wealth and influence who in this epic tale is given the opportunity to do the right thing, even though the right thing might not be the obvious thing.

In The Epic of Eden: Ruth, Dr. Sandra Richter makes each of these characters come alive. Participants in this study—young and old, men and women, churched and unchurched—will be challenged as they see themselves in these characters and find themselves faced with many of the same questions and challenges. Here is real life, lived out by real people with real fears, real struggles, real hope, and real faith.

Go from “Bah, Humbug!” to a Blessed Advent and Merry Christmas.

Ebenezer Scrooge is a man in dire need of a second chance. Is redemption possible for such a greedy, dark and sad character? The Redemption of Scrooge, from Matt Rawle’s The Pop in Culture Series, shows us how the teachings of Jesus can be found in Dickens’ Christmas classic. From the ghosts of Christmas past, to the Life of the present, and the resurrection of Christmas future, this Advent study will “bless us every one” and reinvigorate our spiritual journeys as we look at this familiar story through the lens of faith.

Join us at 9:15, each Sunday of Advent, as we explore this Christmas classic. We will meet in our fellowship hall. In order to keep everyone healthy, we do require social distancing and mask wearing.
